How to Measure Your Ring Size:

Method 1: Measure a previous ring

If you have a ring around the house that fits, you can use it to find out your ring size. First go to the internet and find a chart of ring size circles. It should be a page full of different sized circles labeled with ring sizes and should be easy to find online. Print the page out and put your ring over each of the circles on the chart until you find a circle that fits the inside of your ring perfectly. The size labeled on that circle is the size of the ring you are using to measure.

Method 2: Measuring with paper or a flexible tape measure

For this method, you will need a thin strip of paper (make it thin and long, about the same thickness as the ring you want), a tape measure or ruler (if you have a flexible tape measure you can use it instead of a piece of paper) and a pen or pencil.

Wrap the thin piece of paper or flexible tape measure around the base of your finger. Make sure that you can slide it off and on your finger easily over the knuckle. At the point where the end overlaps, make a mark on the paper with the pencil. Next lay the piece of paper flat on a ruler and note the distance from the closest end to the pencil mark. If using a flexible tape measure, you can read the measurement on the tape measure by looking where the ends of the tape measure overlaps. Ring sizes are measured in millimeters so you should write down the measurement in millimeters.

This method measures the circumference of the ring. Find the circumference closest to the size you measured and match it with the ring size in the left column using the table below.

Ring Size Circumference (mm)
3 44.2
3.5 45.5

Notes:
• The average woman’s ring size is a 7 while the average man’s ring size is a 10.
• Your fingers will be a little bit more swollen at the end of the day so this is the best time to measure your fingers.
• You should measure when your hands are warm not cold as temperature can affect the size of your fingers
• Keep in mind that your hands can be different sizes, so a ring that fits on your left-hand ring finger might not fit your right-hand ring finger. Our dominant hands are normally slightly larger.
• Make sure that your measured size fits easily over your knuckle. If your knuckle is larger than your finger’s base, take two separate measurements and choose a size in between. You want the ring to be able to fit over your knuckle but not to be loose or it will move around on your finger too much.
• Rings with wider bands fit tighter, so take into account how wide your band is before you choose a size.
• If it comes down to guessing, err on the large size.

Description

The Westminster Schools legacy school ring features its school seal, which is described as follows by the commemorative plaque in Pressly Plaza: The Westminster seal contains as its dominant feature the sun, which is the Messianic symbol of Christ. The Gothic monogram represents the first three letters of the name Jesus in Greek. The circle surrounding the monogram symbolizes eternity, while the rays indicate glory. The seal indicates that Jesus Christ is the heart and center of The Westminster Schools.
